Southern Perspective = Confederate Perspective

In an interview (late summer 2008) with the Shreveport Times, The Commander-in-Chief of the Sons of Confederate Veterans declared that the Southern perspective of the American Civil War (aka “The War Between the States”) should be told.

One of SCV’s overall goals for the next several years will be to ensure the Southern perspective is included in the anniversary events and the information presented to the public, McMichael said. The work for that must begin now, he said.

Yet, what defines the Southern perspective of the Civil War?
